ok. im gona head in that direction...anyone been there. i want to build a drag unit for my company on a low $$$ buget. gona sell my stocker M1009 and build a race 4 x 4 unit..any thoughts?

I know it's been done, how successfull it is in DD I don't know but some drag trucks do this.

MarineDiesel builds several verions of blown and intercooled 6.5 diesels. One version is 300 hp and 515 lbs of torque...

IIRC they use a Lysholm twin screw supercharger.

I think you would have better results from a turbo or turbos. The biggest problem as I understand it is how much fuel you can push through the DB2 injection pump. Somewhere on the dieselpage is a video of a guy from Holland running a pulling tractor running 2 pumps to get enough fuel into the motor.

the military pumps are adjustable. these goverment vehicles are xemped from emissions. by law.

All the DB2 pumps are adjustable, however they do have a maximum amount of fuel they can supply. The injectors also have a max amount they can supply...the 6.5 TD injectors flow the most fuel. you want the DB4911 pump and the 6.5 TD injectors for max fuel delivery.

from what I've heard, another way to make good power is throw low compression pistons in a 6.2 or 6.5 and up the turbo pressure. It's supposed to make the same hp and torque as the new diesels. FWIW
