that is what my friends payed to have his sons k5 tube done and a 8 foot over the rails on a bed. that seams like a heck of a lot of money. been told its better then the other spray in one, but why? anyway for someone to spray this at home?

thanks

thats a waste of money. Roll on herculiner 80$ gal. I did my floors, bedsides, and tailgate its about 3 years old its alittle faded but its good for me.:D

I was quoted $450-$500 to do my 8 foot bed over the rails and around the tailgate handle (I hate watch scratches LOL).

Edit: That was rhino lining. price was not much different for line-x but do not remember for certain.

Ditto. Seems like LineX is a heck of a business to be in. Great margin for spray on goo. Maybe I should buy a franchise...;)

I paid $800 to LineX the entire tub up to the firewall, over the rails, inside the rear wheel wells, and my door sills. It looks awesome and cleans easy. I know it is a lot of money but I found it to be well worth it. I Rhino LIned my CJ7 and it wasn't nearly the quality.

yeah I got a professional undercoating gun from carquest paint supply, some bedliner material from a supplier in houston, and sprayed mine myself. Only cost aboot $150, which was enough material to cover 2# 6ft beds. Sprayed the bottom of my cab, and the interior up to the firewall and about a foot up the back wall. I have a single cab, but I ended up wasting about 1/3 to half of the material because the undercoating gun the company sent me, was one sorry POS. COuldnt clean it, so I though it was cleaned out, went to spray another large batch for the second coat underneath, and it was clogged, and cured before I could do anything about it. Otherwise I would have been able to spray atleast one coat in the bed as well. So I got a professional gun that can be broken down and cleaned thoroughly before I continued. It was pretty easy after getting ahold of the better spray gun, went on quick, thick and smooth. Maybe an hour of prep, and about 5 min to spray each coat. I would definitely recommend doing it yourself for the budget concious wheelers.

Very nice job. What brand of bedliner did you use? I know Durabak can be rolled or sprayed, so I assume you can spray Herculiner too.

I payed $450 to get a short box Line-x'ed. It peeled every time you put something in the bed. I was very unhappy w/ it. They resprayed it & it wasn't much better. I will never pay for that crap again.

Line X. Sprayed by the local Line X dealer.

That's weird - I've have nothing but good things to say about my Line-X in my 02 GMC short bed.

Only bad experience was the following:

I find a coupon in the local paper for $100 off Line-X coating on a full-size truck.

I go in, show them the coupon, drop off my truck - with the coupon, it's going to be $350 for an over the rail 6.5' spray in in my box. I pay up front and leave.

Come back, the manager is there - says the coupon is invalid since my truck is a short bed (it's a crew cab 2500HD short bed) - I tell him it says full size truck - I've already paid him $350 - I've got my keys and my truck - I'm leaving.

He says "I'll call the cops if you leave" I say - "go ahead - call them and tell them you are trying to change a signed contract with receipt for the previously state amount to a greater amount"

He let me go:haha:

haha thats a heck of a good price...

I was quoted $425 from the local Line-X shop for my short bed which included over the top "caps"...

Its a company called rattleguard, they have a website if you search for it on yahoo. Pretty good stuff so far, and you can add auto paint tint to it to match your paint job. I think this is what I will do when I do a spray in on my dd Tacoma.
