Does anyone know for a fact if I can put the complete rear brake assemblies (back plates, internals and drums) from my '91 10blt onto a '78 12blt axle?

I wouldn't see why not . The bolt pattern is the same on the rear axlehousing end . I have seen 89-91 Blazers , 88-9? IFS axles , and older 12 bolts . They all had the same 4 holes on the rear .
I had to do my first 12 bolt with 10 bolt brakes , because the 73 2wd 12 had small brakes .
