12SI alt replacement?

Can I replace it with a 12SI? Found one at a good price.

The 12Si series alternator has the same outside dimensions as the 10Si series alternator (shown below) and will fit in it's place without modification.

It looks the same and it was remanufactured and supposedly uped to 135amp, I am going to take a look at it.

You can tell by looking at the fan of the two units easily from the front:

That sir, is damn near the extent of my alternator expertise! HA HA!

I have 12 of each sitting on my shelves I was looking at them today, trying to clean up so i will be testing and throwing.

the 22si I got was OEM on a Series60 genset. I was going to upgrade the Alt on my 12v cummins with it. But I found a 160amp Leese-neville instead.

22si specs. they' can be bumped up to 150-160amp as well. but you have to spin them much faster too.
