I'm thinking about an air pump for my emergency kit. Just something to inflate a tire if I need to plug it away from home. It doesn't need to be fast, but small, reliable and inexpensive would be nice features. There are lots of choices on Amazon, anyone have a recommendation?

I have a few friends with jeeps that run the smittybuilt ones. They seem to do okay.

Check out costco. They have a small one, the bag, jumper cable type hookup for a decent price 70-100 if i remember correctly. Buddy of mine got one to haul around on his atv, we ended up using it to huff up his 35" truck tire and did it fair quick and ran pretty quietly.

I've been looking at Viair ones. They push you pretty far up their food chain for 35" tires, like $250 or so for one that could fill them without having to stop to cool for a long time (like 30 minutes). Since I'm just looking for emergency use, I'd drop down from there a little.

I can air up all 4 of my 37's from 14psi to 35sh without letting the superflow cool down.

Lots of guys using them on the trail and for the small investment they're worth having.
