So to anyone having done 4.56 on a sf what did you end up with your shim stack. I might be able to start on my gears this friday but would need to finish them Friday too.

Alot harder than I thought it would be getting back and forth and having enough time to work on stuff

I always thought the shims depended more on the housing than the gears. Usually when you take gears out, those shims are pretty close to your end solution on the new ones.

Sometimes but after 15 or 16 setups with the same brand of gears you notice that final shim stack on all of them will be pretty close.

I typically always do my first set on the stock shims. I have done enough gear work though on certain axles I start with a predetermined shim pack that is an average of several others.
