Yep. I would look for one that still has oil in the case and decent gears. Avoid anything that looks abused /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

If the axle has the right gears run it with the gov-lock. If you want it to lock up the rear better than you can get a No-Slip by Powertrack that fits in the posi carrier. Central 4wd sells them. Just my .02 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Let me know how it goes......im right up the street from you /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifjake /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Hey,do you know of any good smog shops??????got a buddy who needs to smog his vehicle, hint hint /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

not anny more but there used to be a guy in missori flat that did all my uncles hot rods, sorry i was in the navy in japan for 3 years so i lost all my contacts /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I had to get a new carrier for my Corp14 since I installed 4.56's which use a different carrier. I will be getting my original open carrier back shortly and can sell it to somebody cheap. You can run up to 4.10's with it, but no bigger.

Yeah! Know of any smog shops? For his buddy of course. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Why do you want to get rid of the govlok? It won't break on you...not in a 14BFF. I can think of one guy that broke one but he also managed to break an axle too, and a tranny, and a motor, then another motor, and another motor.... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

But seriously, have you tried out the gov lok? Some work pretty well in the 14BFF's in all but rocks. I have a GL in my 14 and havent had any probs with it. Mine has a lot of miles on it and works OK, but hey I always have posi going strait and it was free so I can't complain. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Yeah the Gov-Loc's in the 14b aren't like the 10 bolt units, they are much stronger, i would run it until the clutches start slippin and then either rebuild it or replace it, i personally think i am just going to try to have mine rebuilt and see if they can "tighten" up the clutches or something to grab alittle better.
