The last couple of days when I try to move the vehicle the driver's side rear brake is frozen. We have had a lot of snow and some freezing rain. If I rock the vehicle I will hear a clunk then everything works perfectly. I searched but could not find a relevant thread. Is there a solution to this problem?

check your diff fluid if youve been threw any deep water lately. i thought my truck froze to the ground but really the diff's were frozen solid lol

are you using the e-brake when you park? never heard of them doing this on the lighter duty trucks, but i know it's a well known rule of thumb on the tractor trailers to NOT apply the trailer brakes if you don't have to during extreme cold times of year, the brake shoes freeze to the drums and require a hand torch or a big hammer to unstick them.

Had this happen a few times with trailers i've pulled.

just a thought.

I had a 72 Chevy pickup that the e brake would freeze, took a couple of rocks to get it to let go but it always did.

PO of my D70HD told me that the drums were doing that, which is one of the several reasons i decided to take the plunge and do the disk brake swap.

Only thing i could recomend would be to pop the drum off, and go at the shoe surface, and the surface of the drum brake surface with an emery cloth to rough the surface up. then readjust the brakes by backing up and slammin on the brakes. maybe apply some BG stop squeel to shoes.
