i picked up a 14bff from a 76 k20 suburban it originally had 4.10 gears but i bought a used set of 4.56 from a place called ring & pinion locally. i decided to get the crush sleeve and pinion rebuilt from six states. all bearings and races are brand new.
after installing everything following pirates write up i tried setting zero backlash by Loosening the right-side adjusting nut and tighten the left-side adjusting nut until the ring gear contacts the pinion without binding but i cant ever get to that. no matter how much i tighten the left side it never gets to were i think it should be
could this mean my ring and pinion are to worn and no good?
