I'm not sure I completely understand the question.. but
I would say if the studs look fine, then use em as they are. Are you replacing the drums? If it were me I would maybe change them out with some new ones.. but it's hard to say. It really depends on the condition of the old ones.

Yeah, I second keeping the assembly together unless the studs or bearings aren't so hot on the new unit.
