A few questions about my swap, first I know I need to change the spring perch location from the 1 ton 40.5" measurement to the 42.5" measurement. I ground off the old perches moved each of them outwards one inch. I welded one up then clamped the other in place and the measurement is coming out hinky. Did I miss something or am I just screwing up the measurement? Other question is do I also need to relocate the shock mounts? If so does anyone happen to know how far I need to move them?

Check out my build thread in my sig.

On mine. I just measured and marked a center point on my new 14B. Then I just measured out from there to mark my new perch location.

Yes you will need to move your shock location. I went the cheap way for now and bolted a spacer on the outside of the existing mounting tab, I just needed longer bolts. I haven't had any problems so far. Eventually I am going to completely redesign my entire shock system and make new mounts upper & lower.

Mine is all farm boy fabrication, but it has worked well so far.

Find the center of the axle then measure out 21.25" and make a mark which would be the center of the spring perch, do this for both sides the center the perch over your mark and find the correct pinion angle and burn them in. A 1 ton rear has the shock mounts and the wrong sides of the axle and they will have to be cut off and moved to an entirely different location altogether.

Just as Scott has said, I had to do. I don't have a link but if you want to search my post I have an entire question/answer session of finding center and welding up my perches and shock mounts. All of the info came from users here and there are photos.
