Any reason I couldn’t run 85-140 in a 14b ff and d60? Both are open diffs and the stuff is $4/qt versus $14/qt for 75-140. Truck sees maybe a 1000 miles a year.

Well heck. By the time I priced out the fluid for the blazer, charger, and Silverado, I ended up being able to get 17qts of Redline in 4 1gal containers and an extra qt for cheaper than getting the $4/qt stuff and the additional fluid for the other two vehicles. Can’t argue with that. Also bought a Motive Powerfill to make life easier.

Yes but that’s more than I need and I don’t want to keep tripping over a 5gal bucket.

Why not just use 80w-90?

With those axles, the main question is: Is it slippery? If yes, OK. If no, find some that is.

It's not quite that easy but they aren't super picky about fluid weight in most cases.
