I need to pull the seal housing off and I cannot locate any gear puller that will work.

The bottom of the pressed on bearing is below the ridge of the seal.

The normal clamshell pulleys I used to pull the D60 and other side of the carrier can’t be used because of the copper air line, aside from the fact they don’t fit the seal body.

What are you using, how do I get this bearing off?

If needed you can also flip that style bearing separator over so the flat side faces the bearing/seal housing to give more clearance.

Those come in various sizes and gets thicker as they get bigger so get the size that works w/o going overboard.
Shop more places then AZ for better options.

Using them with the bolts across the press plates damages the bolts. Only press with halves supported by the press plates
I did specially say it was dangerously rigged in the press.
There's a pic in my build thread of how stupid it had to be rigged since the harbor freight press wasn't wide enough.

Sorry didn't mean to imply you don't know how to do it use, was general comment for any one new to that tool

Idk the size exactly. I had to swap out the bolts to grade 8 because trying to remove it bent the shit out of what it came with

It all varies depending on how good the jaw halves can get in there and get a proper bite w/o interference with the rest of the bearing.
Over the years I have acquired three different sizes of that particular type of separator to fit various bearings and gear sets to have the right tool for the job - you may need to go up a step in the size department so you can press against the jaws and not the “bolts” that clamp them together ( makes it a whole lot easier ).

You should see a slight separation when tightening the jaws and make certain that you get as good of a bite as possible - you may even need to draw the bolts down more once the bearing initially starts to release from the carrier journal.

Haha I'm not offended at all! I think it's nice to have a voice of reason for these things. I wouldn't recommend anyone do it the way I did.
We’ve all abused tools and thought afterwards that it was a bad idea - that’s how our tool box has grown over the years.

Did you grab the bottom of the bearings or grab the seal lip at the carrier?

I was considering cutting the cage and trying to rag the inner race. I’m glad I didn’t because the clam shells didn’t fit the top of the race. It was too small for the set I have.

Don’t feel bad getting any press wide enough it is hard to do.
I’ve found using a bud-style wheel and long enough steel plates makes things work much easier for this type of work.

Pretty positive I grabbed the lip of the seal at the carrier, the line was cracked from ARB so I didn't care about damaging it since I had a replacement. Though, it didn't end up damaged. And I know it didn't destroy the bearing either.

That qualifies as sketchy. But it worked.

The copper tube cracked at the seal so that’s my next task.

Thanks

I probably have done similar to you or worse many times.
I am definitely not the safest mechanic out there but I usually get the job done and stay alive.
I do have a few scars and stories to go with them

That is actually one of the ways they are designed to be used. I might have flipped the bear separator over, may not have fit that way. I like to press on the flat side, over the tapper side.
