14 bolt axle shaft length?

Sorry to ask this fellas. I won't have computer access when I get home so I hope to have a response real soon.

Is each axle shafts the on my 14bff the same length? I took them out 6-7 months ago and was wondering if they are not the same, which one goes into which side? If the same then I'm fine. If they are only about and inch or so different I'm not sure I'd be able to tell which side of the axle tube they'd go into. I'm asking now because if I can't figure it out this weekend then I can't get back on the computer til Monday to ask more questons. Thanks in advance.

They are noticably different lengths. Can't remember off hand which side is which but should be easy to tell.

The pinion is centered (where the driveshaft attaches), but the actual pumpkin is off center...pinion is not centered on the pumpkin. the side the pumpkin is offset to needs the shorter shaft.

What he said ^^^^ they will only fit one way. I would try to put the long shaft in first. If it bottoms out before mating with the hub it is on the wrong side.

IIRC, the driver's side is the short side.

Thanks fellas. I should be able to get it from here. Just didn't want to fock something up if they "fit right" but were not correct and then I'd have a bigger mess on my hands.
