I am having problems getting the caliper on one side of the 14 bolt. I remember a post where mr.smartass had the same problem and ended up having two different rotors. Where do you take measurements or find #'s to find out if the rotors are different. Here are some pics w/ the measurements of the distances between the bracket and the rotor. Thanks...

The bottom pic appears to be the 2wd rotor. Take another pic of the rotor so we can see the "hat".

4wd rotors have slots in them, 2wd don't. I'm betting you have the wrong rotors.

Both have slots,
are these the pictures you need to see?
Both rotors have the samae markings on them, but they have some differences.

Hey, I know that caliper! One of the better $15 I've spent @ HF (though 4x4HIGH sneered at it =))

Anyway, the REALLY simple way to test this is to switch rotors left-for-right. Pain in the butt time consuming, but free. If the same caliper still doesn't fit, it ain't the calipers.

Important measurements for rotors would be ...

  • diameter
  • hat height, outside and inside
  • rotor thickness
I'd take them off -- you gotta do this for the swap test, anyway -- and stick 'em both flat on the ground. Should be obvious if they're different, even without the handy digital measuring stick, and you might snap a photo of them side by side for us to see.

Where did the rotors come from, part of a kit, or from the parts house? They look a little too clean to have been found on the side of the road :haha:

Were these hubs already ran on this axle? If so, did you change bearings? If these were ran on this axle and the bearings were changed then you don't have one or both of the races installed all the way. Are those caddy Eldo calipers or front calipers?
