Just arrived from east coast gear supply.

No instructions, i understand how the stack height/preload works, but what about the orientation of the spacer/shims?

Theres a machined step on the spacer. Which direction does it face? Shims go on top or bottom or makes no diff?

Spent a half hour on the web searching, nothing.

Any help welcomed

if i recall the spacer main body fits on pinion one way . i set mine up with shims at yoke end so i can add / remove as needed for setup .

Cool thanks
Won't be assembling for a few days, but i figured they wouldn't bother machining a step for no reason.

Have you tried calling their customer service? They’d know the best how it goes together and they might add directions for the next person buying one.

Once i give it a go, if it it doesn't make sense that will be the next step

You know how it goes, when you get it in your hands and move parts around they kinda tell you how they need to go.

Just opened the box and had no instructions, kinda lame

Update:
Parts in hand, and Sweetk30 was correct

Spacer can only go on one way. The id step clears the big bearing journal to allow it to seat fully

Shims have to go on top because they won't fit over big bearing journal either

After some testing, still don't know why there is an od step, thought that mite be clearance for the small bearing cage but even at full dia it clears.

Doesn't matter, got it figured out gonna work fine.

Thanks for the responses guys,
