I have the chance to pick up a military 1 ton axles for $200. It has 4.56 gears and open. it used to have the Detroit but the guy i am buying it off of took it out

does $200 sound reasonable?

Did the guy install new spider/side gears in place of the detroit or is it now an empty carrier? The price to me might be a little high since the detroit is gone if he hasn't replaced the detroit with some spider/side gears. Another thing, if you're going to install it in a blazer you're going to need to cut and remove and move the spring perches and also the shock brackets and they aren't in the correct place for a blazer.

Seems a little high, at least for the the part of CA I am in. The go for about $100-150 here. If it had the detroit it would be worth it for sure. And as people said above a one ton 14 bolt will have the wrong spring pad/shack spacing. I would look for a 3/4 ton one and save yourself some money and hassle

I got mine w/ 4.10's and a detroit for 200. In south city.
