14 bolt Gov bomb - Detriot

Hey i have a 14bolt w/ a gov lock in it, it is the same to put a detriot in it as an open 14bolt?

To put in a detroit, you have to get a open carrier and install the detroit in it. The gov-lok on 14-bolt ff's isn't as bad as hte ones that came in 10 bolts.

I've got the Gov-bomb in my 14 also and have read that they're not as bad as the smaller units. What is the failure rates of them in 14ff's?

I've only heard of one grenading, but can't remember exactly what happened. They can be a b!tch to lock up, unlock when they want, but I never wheeled with one. They don't look anything like the GLs in the 10 bolts and similiar axles. But in order to put a Detroit in, you will need a 4 pin open carrier.

The gov locks only use 3 pins into the carrier where as the opens (and detroits) use 4

i would not hesitate on a 14ff gov-lock. i run them in my trucks. great for street wear and open diff daily driving use.
