14 Bolt Hubs

Hey guys,

I am suffering through having my 14 bolt ff rebuilt and need some advice. My builder is confused about the hubs I gave him. One looks smooth while the other looks like it has a machined lip on it. Attached is an image.

Will these work?

Actually the part numbers are the same it just looks like one of them has somehow been grind ed down somehow. will this be an issue? Does anyone know where I can find some good or a good used 14 bolt hub? I guess i can start another thread in the parts needed section

If they are the same part number and take identical parts. No problems.

Use em for now and if it bucks ya replace one

That outside lip isn't a bearing or sealing surface. I'd bet you're fine. But it does seem odd to be ground down like that. Did they come from the same donor truck?

Right! Yeah they came from the same donor axle. Ugh...but anyway hillbilly sold me a new used hub today and will be in next week.
