Hi,
I just put a 14 bolt rear in my 89 blazer, and swapped out the brake backing plates so I can use my press in style parking brake. My problem is that the driver side brakes went together good, but the passenger side acts like the parking brake is engaged with the cable completely loose. It might sound kinda odd, but the cable seems like its too short. I have done numerous drum brake assemblies, and have never encountered this one! Has anyone else ever had the same issue?

I have a 14 bolt in my 89 blazer and at first I was running the drum brakes and I had NO troubles. Did you use your factory e-brake cables?

Where in the bay area are you? If you're close enough you might want to meet up with me for some help. :deal:

I am using the factory e-brake cables, and I think that I got it figured out tonight. I had to run the adjuster bolt for the right rear, to the end. It got the shoes squared up, and I got the drum back on. Gonna bend new hard line, and get the system bled and adjusted tomorrow night, hopefull!

I am located in Castro Valley. Thanks for offering to meet up!

Might have to meet up for some wheeling when I get this thing put back together :woot:
Putting the 14 in the rear, and a 44 in the front are the first mods I have done, plus useing ORDs shackle flip, bushings, springs, and other array of goods to achieve 4" in the front, and 5" in the rear.

Cant wait to get it all together, and wheel it.

Poor thing has been bone stock, and in the Family since day one.
