14 bolt parking brake cables and backing plate

I have a 14 bolt out of a 78 K30 with the equal length cables for the e brake, I searched and found out I can swap in 83 and up cables and backing plates to install it into an 84 k10.

My quick parts house search revealed different length cables for different wheelbases, my question is what cables do I use since my truck is a shortbed?

Since my rear is a non dana axle and non dual rear wheel ....what part number am I supposed to use? Maybe I'm missing something?

If you have a true K30 14FF, be aware of the wide 3.5" shoes compared to the 3" on the 3/4 ton rears. The backing plates have a different offset between the two.

'83 on up is the split of the longer cable on the passenger side of which snakes over to the drivers side. You can simply remove the backing plates on these years and use them on the '82 and older rears.

The difference between the two cables is the older ones are a bolt on type and the newer are a press in.
