so just split open my carrier looks like I have the three pin set up what's the difference between the four pin setup other than the number I bought a locker before I knew what I had mine is three the locker is four !
 
So souds like I have the locker for the thicker carrier which is 4:56 and up I need the locker for the 4:10 down version ?
 
You have the factory Gov-lock differential if it has 3 pins. If the locker you bought is a Detroit locker it cannot be installed into the 3 pin Gov-lock differential. You will need to buy a factory open differential to replace the Gov-lock and then install the Detroit. Gear ratio does not matter for the Detroit. If the "locker" you bought is something other than a Detroit than the above doesn't apply.

Yeah I figured that out lol I called my local axel shop they have one on the shelf 100$ so I'll be on my way now !
