14 bolt rear and 10 front, did they come stock like that

I have a friend who will sell me his 76or78 GMC 3/4 ton long bed for $1500.00
its a clean truck, last night I ask him to tell me how many bolts the rear end cover had, he said 14, I told him I would take it. I get there today, and the front had a 10 bolt , but its a 4/speed manuel truck .

did they come stock like this?? I thought the front would be 14 bolts also.
I would have put my 82 body on that frame. I don't like the interior in the early models, well just the DASH.

Yep that is right. It might actully be a Dana 44 but there is no such thing as a factory 14 bolt front. Someone on here had a custom 14bolt made into a front axle though.

3/4 ton trucks did come stock with a 10b/14b setup there is not a 14b front axle common front axles are 10b, dana 44, and dana 60
there are 2 different 14bolt rear axles the 14b semi-float and the full-float
