I have a 14 bolt FF under my 1987 1/2 ton with the rear disc brake conversion. I need to hok the parking brake back up for a vehicle inspection but don't know what cable might fit. It has the corvette type calipers on it and was wondering if anyone has run into the same problem. What would be the best fix?:doah:

What type of e-brake do the Corvettes use? There were at least three styles that GM used over the years. Drum-in-hat, lever, such as the 70's Cadillac stuff, and the later Camaro stuff that had a small cast iron lever that was somewhat integral with the caliber.

I'm thinking its the same as the Caddy stuff. It has a spring built on to the caliper and appears that cable hooks into a lever that operates the spring. My truck is back in Texas right now, and if I were there I'd take a pic of the set up. I'm just looking for a way to hook the park brake up so that it will work and not look like crap.

Here is a pic of mine, i used the factory cables and just welded a small bracket on the axle tube for the cable to clip into. My 89 has both cable down the driverside and then the passenger cable crosses over just in front of the pinion. Tthese are the 76-78 caddy calipers.
