14 bolt sf disk brakes

Just picked up a '79 8 lug 14 bolt sf for cheap and was having trouble finding DB conversion brackets. I found a few complete kits but no brackets by them selves. Can I use the brackets for a 14FF? I've never had one of these before. thanks, Andy

14SF's didn't start until '81.

Did someone swap it in your rig?

You can use the ones from Ruffstuff which use the larger calipers or the ones from TSM which use a monte carlo caliper. Check my build thread in the 67-72 section.

Also check the parts for sale section. I have the rotors and brackets from TSM along with some Superior axle shafts for sale.

If that is a stock '79 14bolt , it is a full-floater not a semi-float

It is a sf 14 bolt, but I'll probably just sell it and get a ff instead. The guy I bought it from said it was out of a 79 but like most things on these trucks, who knows.
