I tried to search this but didnt find the answer. I have a 3.73 geared 14 bolt. I just bought a set of 4.56 gears and carrier for it. it does not come with spider gears or anything, so i need to know if I can use the spider gears out of the 3.73 carrier or if I need to find different ones.

thanks in advance for any help. Dustin

ok, I wound up getting a whole axle with 4.56 gears, its a cab & chassis 14 bolt though, I read up on the differences over on pirate in the 14 bolt bible but still have a couple questions, I know this has been covered many times but this is my first time going through it. can I just swap SRW hubs over onto it? if so will the drums work? if they wont work what do I have to do to make them work, Im not doing a disc swap. I dont want the rear to be really narrow. thanks for any help.

The C&C 14BFF has the same tube and shafts as an SRW ... but the hubs are different, as you noticed, AND the flange for the backing plate is in the wrong place... it's ~2" in on each side. The drums (and shoes) are set up for this deeper, set back flange, and won't work on the SRW axle, nor will the SRW stuff fit.

In short, if you're not gonna do disc, your best bet in this case is to take the gears and carrier and do a swap into your existing axle.
