i found a 14 bolt for like 50 bux, it has minor surface rust, 373 gears which are kinda loose, and one of the drums is locked. is this worth investing?

Pop the cover off and inspect it. If the gears look good and no major rust in it, buy it. Thats about as cheap as you can get those bad boys for. (unless you get one for free) You can rebuild these and swap different gears in it for around $1000.00 with Detroit Locker and EVERYTHING brand new!
