14 Bolts and Big Blocks don\'t mix
So I was driving around gettin stuff done Saturday morning when I heard POP!
I checked everything out, and all seemed good in the driveway.
I thought maybe my rear driveshaft is finally starting to end it's life...
I take off down the street... All is well.
Get to the stop light, and I want to see if my TBI computer program changes did any good... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
I hit the gas, make the tires squeal, and BAM!!! tink clunk ca-chunk... Then egine stalls and the transmission vibrates like crazy. I restart the engine, and the tranny doesn't want to go into gear
I thought, maybe those WEREN'T the right clutch bolts after all...
I get out and take a look around...
Oops...
Damn, did I break the C-clip on my SF?
It's not like the ARB was on or anything.
Maybe it SHOULD HAVE BEEN on... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
Crap.
I get back in. I release the brake, and try to coast backward (small slope) down my busy street...
It won't roll. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Great....
I get it in gear, forward... stalls the engine in granny low...
I get it in reverse.. AHA!! it's rolling. Back in first.. it rolls 2" and stalls the engine.

I walk home. Tell the g/f the news. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Get her to drive me back to the truck (it must have been 85 degrees out).
Take out the rear driveshaft, after it didn't want to roll backwards anymore. I got it in 1st, then in reveres to roll it to get to the driveshaft bolts.
Drive it home on front driveshaft.
The tire just starts to walk out and show the brake pads, after I get within ~ 200 yards from the house.
Get it home....
Does ARB have a LIFETIME WARRANTY???
I guess not... /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif
R&P looks good, Spiders Look good, C-clips look good, Center bolt/rod looks good.
ARB carrier (I think that's what that was) totally grenaded.
So the story of my life goes... those never break - right?
Now you know why GM never put BBC in front of the 14SF.
