14 FF conversion E-Brake question

I'm getting ready to bolt in my 14 and my ebrake does not match up. On my 10 bolt I have the ebrake that the passenger side goes over the pumpkin and meets the driver side cable on the driver side. On my 14 I have the type that goes straight to both sides. What do I need to do to get my e-brake working?

Ok, listen up!!
Take the little plates off that attach the E-brake cables coming out of the 14 bolt backing plates. Seperate them so that you can remove the 14 botl E-cables. Then cut a slit in the smaller (e-brake) plate to remove the cable, then slide the 10 bolt cable coming from the truck into the small plate adn re-assemble. You are now ready to bolt them back in. You may find that your 10 bolt E-brake cable is too short if your backing plate on the 14 bolt is a lot larger thatn you 10 bolt backing plate.

PS, I had to make an extention for the passenger side cable to attach to the adjustment bracket under the driver side. If you can wait till tomorrow I can get some pics.
But if you taek the cable loose from the truck adn do as I sadi above then try to re-attach the cable to the adjustment bracket you will see what I mean about it being too short. But all this depends on the size brakes that are on your new 14 bolt.
I have one 14 bolt in the garage that has backing plates that are small enough so that my 10 bolt cables would be long enough, but the other 14 I installed had HUGE brakes on the rear so that the cable had to strech futher to connect. If this all makes since.

PLEASE get pics! I am going to be doing this in the next few days, and pics would really help me. Is there anyway to cut the cable on the 14 bolt cable, right after it comes out of the drum, cut the cable on the truck, and somehow attach the 2 together? Also could you get some pics of the extension bracket. Thanks a ton!

No cable cutting. Adn thanks Esteban, yes it was your idea. And it works great.
Just trust me, the way Im telling you is killer and its free. All you need is a grinding wheel and air compressor.

I know you didn't cut cables, but my question is CAN you cut them and re connect them? If so whats the best way to do this? Thanks!

Im sure there is a way, but what Im saying is I wouldn't!!!!
I mean you can drive a car with your feet, but I wouldn't recommend it!

I need a little help too. I am not comprehending the last step. When me and my buddy installed my 14b we did what you talked about by cutting the bracket so the cable would go in. I am about 6-8 inches (I think) short of the connection on the drivers side ajustment plate. I can adjust out maybe 3-4 inches, but I will still end up short. How exactly do I bridge this last few inches? I thought about another 3-4 inch section of the wire with the metal end cap at one end and the clip on the other but I don't know where to get it made. Pics would help me as I am a visual person. Thanks
