my budy bought a 14 bolt with a detroit in it, so we tore it apart to check the bearings come to find out it has 17 spine shafts? whats up

Ever looked at the scary steering page. Tell me the point of any of those swaps...
Now, Really I have no idea on why anyone would do that. I could be wrong too, but I do know that some of the parts are interchangeable

i know detroit doesn't make a locker for the eaton anymore, and you can take a 14bff detroit, put it in a eaton carrier and use the 14bff shafts to have a eaton with a new detroit.
im sure someone did just the oposite.
