Hey all I just took off the old shock mounts on the 14 bolt. My question is this , do I need to grind these down to make room for the new shock tabs? Its going into a 84 blazer and the shock tabs will be in the stock or as close to stock location for a blazer if that makes sense.

depends on what the 14bff came out of?

if 3/4 ton 73-87(91) then yeah, you have to grind em down
if not, you are probably ok to leave em there... but why would you want to? im sure it looks ugly like that, and weight is weight, however small

ya this is true, I just wanted to get it under the truck but im running out of daylight. Ill just finish the metal finishing tommorow:D

Uh uh uh.

I thought the 2WD's and/or 1-ton's had the stupid shock mounting, and the 4WD's 1/2 and 3/4 were okay.

Anyway, if they're wrong, they're wrong. :dunno:
