ive got two sets of the thin 4.56 r&p for my 14 bolt. one nice and one ok, ok one is still stuck in the pinion housing with no yoke and the nice one is out already.

how do i get the old one out? also can i just put a yoke on the ok one and run the good ring gear with the ok pinion?

crushing a new sleeve, can i do that at home or do i need to pay a professional to do it?

Gear sets are matched so unless you want a guaranteed whine DO NOT mix ring and pinion gears.

Crushing the sleeve can prove very difficult sometimes, when i did mine i used the press at work to get it to start to crush and that alone took 4 tons. Once they start to crush though they crush FAST.

+1

14 bolt crush sleeves are a pain to start to crush. I thought there was a place that offered preload shims for them. Either way, use the matched set, which ever it is.

Remember that you'll need to reset pinion bearing preload (and replace the crush sleeve) if the yoke has been removed.

And as said above, ring and pinion gears are matched and mixing them is a no no.

thanks guys, i will replace the sleeve for sure. ill just take it to a driveline shop here and have it crushed. shouldnt be too bad.
