I assume you removed the axle shafts first. If so it should pop right out after the caps are removed. If not you may have to go a few more turns on the adjusting nuts.

removal info

sorry to aks but did you remove the full floater shafts. and if so thay can sometimes need a good pop to get out.:cool1:

Did you loosen up the big threaded things that are on either side of the carrier (sorry dont know what they are called) but they have a bunch of holes in them?? just make sure you count how many turns you made on them.

axleshafts... I dont need no stinkin axles :). yes they are out... and were :)
(cam is drooling now like a complete moron)

the adjusting nuts.... how many turns are probably appropriate to get it loose... maybe I didnt make enough... they said 3 or 4?

Thats about the only thing that could hold it in there, maybe try and loosen it up some more and jiggle it. :)

the great news is that after some more turns it fell out in my hand... the bad news is twofold...

I lost the count
the magic marker came off and I lost the initial location for turn counts

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO
How can I properly setup the carrier again if I have lost the original specs???
thanks
cam

(I wont make that mistaKE AGAIN)

When you reinstall the adjusting nuts just tighten down the main caps a little so you can turn the caps and reset the backlash. It is easy.

I don't even ever count the turns when i do a 14FF or a 9" Furd. I always forget it anyway or i loose where i wrote it down.
