Hey folks,
Got the t-case adaptor on and the ford S/D shaft on to get preliminary idea of shaft length(see pic).. the natural happy spot for the shaft is about 3” short. This gives about 1.5” travel in and out.. I know it’s a hare brained idea, but does anyone know if they make a “long yoke” for the 14B like the second pic? I can’t seem to find one, lots for ford 9” and gm 12b.. it would have to be crazy long so not holding my breath.. I’m sure I’ll wind up getting this shaft lengthened, but was just trying to see if there was an easy button..

As for other alternatives, I see there are forged and cast options, u bolt style, but I’ve also heard recommendations for the u bolt caps.. any thoughts are appreciated!

Haven't seen longer yokes
U-Bolts only, never straps
Cast is fine
Lengthen the tube I guess. 1.5" In&Out doesn't sound like much but you can get away with that in the rear. :waytogo:

I just went through a rebuild on a 14bff last winter and found that Down to Fab had the best pricing on most of the parts. In all my research, I never came across a longer yoke though.

If you don't have a lathe, you'll need to buy a very slim socket to get the nut in there. In my case, for the forged yoke, I needed a 1.5" socket that I turned the OD down to 1.88" for about 3/8"
