I had these installed new before the last trip to Moab (about 2500 miles). They were brand new GM 4.10 gears installed on a used carrier. The gears are in great shape and had about .006 backlash when I removed them.

$50 + shipping. I can post pictures if interested.

For reference, the shipping on the D60 gear set was about $48 from the west coat to the east coast via UPS ground. These are heavy.

Brian, I may be interested in the open carrier if you are willing to seperate. Will need one down the line to get rid of my gov lock and put a detroit in. When you coming to SoCal?

I might be able to separate. I wouldn't be down there until the first week or august or so. I have to ask the wife when the dates are.

If he wants the carrier, I'll take the gears. Shipping to 40216...
Do the 4.10 gears take the more common carrier or the 4.56 carrier? (I have both)

This is the 4.10 and down carrier so the gears are standard (non thick) gears.

Pm me a shipping address and Ill get a quote.

bump. Still have these. $25 for the gears and $25 for the carrier. I'll be in Anaheim on July 31 - august 2 if anyone wants to pick them up from me at the hotel I'll bring them along.

Brian, I'm in for the carrier. Would it make most sense for me to get the gears too. I just thought that you need to use the R/P as a set but don't want to have to get into resetting the R/P if I got both. Would I have to reset if I just used your carrier and put my existing Ring gear on and kept my current pinion in place?

If you are swapping the carrier, you'll need to re-setup the gears and backlash. You'll also want to keep the ring and pinion together as a set so I don't think it'll save you anything to get the gears too.

Oh yea, then the carrier is "sold". :) I'll leave the bearings on it since they are pretty new. You can just bolt your ring gear on it and then re-set the backlash and preload and you shouldn't have to touch the pinion at all if you're lucky.

I'll be watching my kid in the hotel all day while my wife is out partying so you'll need to pick it up from me at the hotel. :o

by using your same gears all you would have to reset is the backlash since your pinion depth isnt changing. id put it back together with the new carrier and check the backalsh first though, might get lucky and not have to readjust the carrier shims.
