hey guys,

if my 14bff came out of a running pickup, do you think i need to replace the bearings?

how many of you replaced them before you did the 14bff swap?

i havent done any kind of bearing on my k5 before, so what are good brands?

how do i get the hub open to replace them?

thanks alot

it wouldnt hurt to look at/replace them, gm uses timken or whatever it is for bearings.

i replaced all the bearing in my 14b before i put it in

to take the hub off to inspect/replace the bearings just take the 8 bolts out that hold the axle shaft in, then remove the first spindle nut (you can buy a special socket or use a screw driver and hammer) remove the lock washer thing, then the other spindle nut. then you have to remove the drum/hub assembly and i think thats it

yea i have already gotten all of that off and my rotors mounted.

thanks i guess ill go find some bearings

im looking at this seal on the back of the hub...

how do i remove it correctly?

i dont wana tear it up but it kinda seems frozen in the hub

i just read your post mechted, any way i can do this w.o a puller
