so ive heard that 4.56 gears are the lowest you can fit into a 14bff housing, is this correct? if it is, what is the problem and what do you have to do make lower gears fit? is this a problem with d60's too?

14FF you can now get 5.38's and the D60 can go all the way to 7.17's

4.88's and 5.13's have been around for a long time and like mentioned above, you can get 5.38's now.

i'm pretty sure after 4.56 you need to switch carriers.
Carrier break is 4.10-down or 4.56-up

Nope. 4.56 and up and 4.10 and down is the split. You can get thick 4.56's, 4.88's, 5.13's to run on the 4.10 and down carrier. I think the 5.38's only come in thick.
