Hey all. Just bought a 14bff from another member here and am happy with it but did not get a close look at it till this past weekend. For some reason the shock mounts on the diff have been cut off. It's from an 88 3/4 ton p/u and as far as I know the shocks should've lined right up. My question is what's the best/most reasonably priced option I should pursue?

sometimes if you are lifted the 14 bolt shock mounts will not work. the shock tube will be to large diameter & contact the axle tube because the pinion is rotated up.

Take a piece of 3/8" flat stock & weld it to the axle tube, drill a hole in it & run a bolt through it & the shock. Thant is how dodge did it. Cheap & easy, but not bling.

That's fine with me I don't need bling but unfortunately I have absolutely no welding experience nor friends who are any good at it( if ya saw there work you'd be scared too).

guess its time to learn then:wink1: i dont know how but want to learn as it could be useful for various situations..

Hey thx all. those clamp ons look pretty awesome! But once again I'm an idiot and completely forgot that I have a friend of a friend who owns a body shop and willing to do it for free!

LOL...

The 3/4 ton shock mounts may be oriented correctly, but if it was a 2WD 3/4 ton they would hang quite low which was why they were likely removed.

Well that makes sense now. I dunno if what it came out of was 2wd but looking at it that seems to add up. As for knowing someone that welds I actually know a few guys, just none I would of trusted. Except for of course this guy. Just forgot about him. haven't talked to him since he got married. lol. Besides he's a ford guy:haha:
