14BFF New gears, big chatter.

Alright I have some really bad gear chatter on decel, thought it was the pinion preload. Apparently not, bc now I have a touch too much preload.

This axle didn't take ANY pinion shims to get a good pattern. I'll post pics tonight of the pattern after I re pattern it.

Looking at it on lunch, it seems as though its eating at the coast side heel, see the bottom tooth. Sorry for the ****ty pic i was on lunch in a hurry. I'll get better pics tonight and pattern pics.

Also seems to be a bit of root wear.

This has about 5 miles on it, loud as all HELL on decel.

Oh and backlash was checked today also at .007", .006" and .007". Pinion preload is at 32in/lbs.

I'm lost.

Gear ratio? Problems with the old ring and pinion?

Pinion is too close. Add pinion shim, reset backlash and check pattern.
