14bff pinion seal change..

so im gonna change the pinion seal in the 14bff and was wondering if there are any tricks or basically anything different than the way you do a 10 bolt? ill basically be going about it the same way i did the 10b, which is from a Haynes manual. i recall someone mentioning something about a 'crush sleeve' replacement and the pinion nut, too. thanks for the help..

I am not sure if you need to replace the crush sleeve for just a seal replacement. It is a PITA to crush though. Start it in a press.

Once you get the pinion out, the seal is a piece of cake.

It is recommended to do a new crush sleeve, but not absolutely required Either way it will take some doing. Search on this, as I went through this recently.
