is the one ton rear end in the 2wd c30's the same as the rear end in the k30's? the pick-a-part by my house has an abundance of 14bff in 2wd pickups. i'm thinking about picking one up and then waiting til i find a good deal on a d60 front end. has anyone ever found a d60 at a pick-a-part type salvage yard? it doesn't seem like they ever have any k30 pickups at this one by my house.

there they same. just the shock mounts are are in different spots. also u might want to pull the 14ff out of a c20 or k20 since it will have the right spring pad spacing for your k5... ask me how I know! lol..... the truck I pulled my 14ff was labeled as a c20 turns out it was a c30 and the pads were in the wrong spot.

The 14bff from the 2wd should be the same as the 4wd. However I am not sure what they came with for gearing in those c30's. I have only once seen a 60f in the yard, came back two days later and it was gone.

Put one in my old truck, must have been a 2wd, only difference was shocks. Wasn't off by much, and was selling the truck, so needed it done FAST, I just dented the shock, and it went on. I think if you just notched and rewelded, it would be fine. Gearing for 2wd would be the same as 4wd, anything from 3.42s up to 4.56s, and if your lucky a 5.13.
