I was about to do a rear disc swap and had a question. I got the Ruff stuff brakets and was going for the rotors and calipers for the 3/4 ton front. Will this work with my 15" steel wheels? Will i just have to touch them up a bit with a grinder like i did the front or do they sit to far in and not going to work? Anyone have this setup? Also any one use RESIDUAL VALVES inline? Are they even needed or should i go with a proportioning valve? any comments would be helpful. Thanks

I installed disc brakes on a 14bff with no problem running 15x10s with 3.5inches of backspacing, you will have to grind the front calipers, but the rears are no problems- I even used the ruffstuff brackets, but had to open them up a little to allow the caliper to mount correctly.

EDIT: I did nothing else to my brake system but bleed it and the brakes are fine, but everyone seems to have a different opinion...so....?

i used the ruff stuff brackets as well, and i had to grind just like the front, 15x10 and 4.25 backspacing

sweet thanks for the reply. just wanted to be sure before forking out the dough. Ill try it out stock then see if I need any kind of adjusting valves to get the feel Im after.

discs don't need residual valves, but some people find a proportioning valve helps to cut down the rear braking force if your rear tires are locking up. Like you said, I'd try it out without one and go from there.
