I came across the sweet little 14BFF swap "kit" ORD has started making that comes with the *conversion u-joint,*U-bolt & plates,*perches and *shock tabs....taking much of the guess work out.

My concern is the brakelines. I'm doing a 4"ORD shackle flip at the same time and will also be using the stock spring with ZERO rates.

The axle is stock and out of a '76 k20. The truck is a presently stock '91 1500 Suburban. Will the brakelines and e-brake cables all work as-is or.....?

The e-brake cables aren't going to fit without changing around some parts. The brake hose should fit fine, but you should really go to an extended one with the lift. Check your rear pinion angle to the driveline, as it will probably be too high when you're done. It works out fine on SB's and Blazers, but usually needs to be shimmed (use steel degree shims) down on LB's and 'burbs.:D

I am going to order up ORD's S.S. brakeline kit to compensate for the lift, just wasn't sure on the e-brake cables mostly. I have a pair of shims that should work if the pinion angle is suspect

Summary:

You'll need the brake parts off a newer 14bff if you plan to retain the e-brake cable.. otherwise it'd bolt right up. If your 14b is from a k20/2500 you don't even need to worry about perches.

I pretty much figure I'll do discs in the rear and run a line lock and wheel chocks(:haha:) for now, and when I SYE my 241 I'll run a driveline brake.

awesome. I'll run discs eventually too. park in the 700r4 tranny should hold me just fine until I can get the e-brake parts I need:wink1:. I'm looking at the H.A.D. SYE with the parking brake also as an option, but thats a few months away

I just like the idea of running the same calipers on all 4 corners... sourcing Caddy calipers is only going to get harder and harder as time wears on. If someone figured out to take rear calipers of some newer model rear disc braked vehicle they'd be making money.. could charge double what DIY4X does for their brackets and still sell 'em.

exactly. I don't want to mess with the Eldorado calipers. It'll be much simpler to use the same calipers all the way around.

That is a nice looking Suburban,by the way
