I know i am beating a dead horse here, but was wanting to know about the wheel studs when doing the disc swap. Can I re-use the old wheel studs, or do I need to pick some up from a dually? I am running aluminum rims with the acorn style lugnuts.

If I do need the longer studs, does anyone know where to find them cheaper than $4.00 each?:eek1:

With steel wheels you can use the single wheel studs. When I switch over to disc and with aluminum wheels I had to change over to dually studs. I believe the oRiely's number is 194 or 196.

You can reuse the studs but they will be too short for running aluminum wheels. I had to turn the heads down on my wheel studs to fit inside the 3/4t rotors that I used.

The dually studs might be the better answer, but I don't know firsthand.

My turned down studs and installed in my rotors:

Here you can see the srw studs and how far they stick out:

I guess it depends on what style aluminum wheel you are running, I'm running the stock H2 (2nd gen style) wheels with the old studs from the drum setup, no issues with those. Bought the enclosed chrome lug nuts, acorn style, have been working fine for the past several years. :D

Same here. I've got some generic american racing aluminum wheels
and the stock studs are plenty long enough. I didn't even need to turn down the heads before pressing them back in.

As long as the 14ff had the 13" cast drums and not the 11" composite drums then you can reuse the studs. Be careful though as you might need to machine the head diameter down to fit within the recess of the rotor like ryan22re had to do (and me as well). I'm running Eagle 589 aluminum wheels on mine without any issue.
