I will soon be swapping in my 14b rear and will probly end up doing it myself. because of this i want to remove as much weight as possible to make it a little easier. i plan on removing the axles hubs and drums. my question is if i remove the pinion support will i have to adjust or reset up my gears when i put it back or can i just pull it and replace it when im done?

u can remove it & put it back in, just be sure to keep up w/ the shims, & put them back.

why not just put some small tires on it and roll it under the truck?

duh, now i feel somewhat retarded for not thinking of that.:o thanks anyway guys

The 14 bolt with the larger size drums will roll on the drums alone. I had one out of a 1983 K30 pickup that would do it.

Small tires are great for swapping axles and also to drive it in the garage for repairs/upgrades. I saved these from my mom's car. They fit a 16" wheel and measure only 26" tall aired up. You can run them flat to lower the truck another couple inches.
