14bsf gov loc spider gears

is there a way to tighten up my spider gear in my 14bsf with a gov loc? its got more play than i like. id like to keep this rear going as long as posible till i can get a 14bff and detroit (no opens diffs here /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif) put in

seems like you could put a shim under the spiders not on the axleshafts to tighten them up. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

According to the pictures in my shop manual, there are already thrust washers underneath the pinion gears.

They do wear though.
