Anyone know how to positively ID this differential? Also, I have no idea how to verify the ring and pinion ratio with the axle removed. Help?

the owner was told this axle has a full-case Detroit locker and 4.56:1 gears

I think you would of received more replys in the garage section. But that is a 14bolt semi float with a detroit locker. The # 135A etched on it is part of their part number. They do that with all their diffs.

The owner of the axle posted a thread in the garage section that wasn't getting many replies,so I posted it here because the axle is a 6-lug 14BSF and is a popular swap in '73-91 solid-axle 1/2 ton trucks where the owner wants to stay 6-lug

forgot to mention it was 6-lug though:eek1:
