Well last week I made the road trip to North Georgia and brought back a 1978 K5 that my buddy gave me. (free)
The K5 has a broken front axle shaft....no big deal. I was driving around and thought of a guy thats local who has a bunch of old trucks around his house. I decided to stop and ask about axles. The guy says he has a set of gm 3/4 axles, says they are 14 bolt full floater and a 10 bolt. I looked at them but the front axle was upside down in-between some cars and I couldn't see it.
I showed back up today with my trailer/$300 in hand. The gentleman moves the cars with the forklift and picks up the axles. I then realized that this 10 bolt as the guy said....is a Dana 44 with flat top knuckles...... sweet!!!
