14FF double splined shafts

Youch I would say Nay. $255 plus the custom shafts...unless you are breakin 14B shafts like a 10b:wink1: :eek1:

Sexy if you wanted to pull the shafts for flat towing. For that kind of money, though, I can disco the driveshaft a lot of times. :deal:

As mentioned, given the relatively low breakage rate reported for 14BFF's, I don't see much advantage besides the bling.

Well you can run a spool and just pull on side on the street or weld up the rear and run these also on the street. Only reason i can think of. But by the time you do that it probably about the same amount to get a locker and alot less hassle.

wonder if you could run 49's and get away with it w/o needing rockwells, cuz then that definitely would be a cheaper/easier solution

i don't think thats needed, 30 year old shafts in the 14 bolt hardly ever break, not to mention if you up graded to a newer set of stock ones, i don't think that is needed, and also why would you want double splined shafts the stock shaft are forged from one billet the flange and shaft are one piece

Looks like a nice piece, but I really don't see a market for it. I've heard of one 14 bolt shaft failure and 2 D70 shaft failures. I'm sure there are plenty more, but the number of broken D60 shafts and joints I've heard of is countless.

If you want to run the big meats without rockwells, you need to address your D60 way before you start tearing into your 14 bolt. I could go on about the pros and cons of rockwells, but that's not what this is about.

Let's apply some 'weakest link' logic here. They're pretty proud of the 35 spline part of the shaft, but don't really talk about the carrier end which is no larger and is still only 30 spline. Stands to reason the 35 spline portion isn't the weakest part.

Are we to believe that drive slugs are stronger than the one piece shafts we all have? I'd rather go with some aftermarket shafts that are new and bolt in like the stock stuff does. Better bang for the buck to my way of thinking. This would be if I had money to burn though...14 bolt shafts are a dime a dozen and last damn near forever.

Useless product IMO...

good idea, but kinda not worth it.ive never really heard of too many people breaking a 14 bolt shaft before.and aftermarket shafts would double the strength of the stock ones that usually dont have strength issues anyway.

Wes, make sure you have enough left in the budget for the 16 chrome shocks you're gonna need.:D:haha:
As opposed to the 32 you're already running? :p:

Nah, I'm not looking at this shaft thingie. Just found it on eVilbay and had to put it up here to see what opinions formed about it.

It is a great product "IF" you had a narrowed 14ff axle and needed shafts. At that point it might be worth looking into. They make kits (or did at one time) for the D60 axle. I have a friend with the double splined axles and drive slugs in a D60 (5 lug axle) under a 36 willy's coupe with a 1300HP twin turbocharged SBC. He'd hate to have one of those 33/21.5" tires coming out of the wheel well because of a broken axle.
