14ff ring gear diff numbers.. what ratio?

Ok, I pulled my 14ff cover, it all looks good in there. open carrier

3 GM 3992484 11 41 2 78

that's on the ring gear. What ratio is it? My guess from the driveshaft turning trick was 3.73. Was I right?

3992484 = part number

11 41 = gear ratio. 11 pinion teeth and 41 ring teeth. 41/11=3.73

2 78 = date code

3.73 is your ratio. see the 11 and 41? divide 41 by 11.

the tire turning driveshaft counting trick DOES work .. I was just glad it wasn't a gov bomb!! My lazy butt just not pulled the cover.

Ya, the turn-the-tire method does work well. I usually turn the tire 20 times while someone counts the driveshaft revs. It's real accurate this way.
